
Jonathan Frazier
President, Edible Valley Podcast
Chef Jonathan Frazier is a Red Seal Chef, culinary educator, media producer, and President of the North Vancouver Island Culinary Association. With more than 25 years of experience in restaurants, catering, hospitality, and culinary education, Jonathan has built his career around celebrating local ingredients, supporting food producers, and connecting people to the stories behind their food.
A lifelong advocate for British Columbia’s food systems, Jonathan has worked throughout Vancouver Island and beyond, gaining experience in restaurants, hotels, catering, and culinary leadership roles. His passion lies in showcasing the incredible diversity of coastal ingredients and helping chefs discover new ways to incorporate sustainable, locally sourced products into their kitchens.
Jonathan teaches culinary arts at North Island College and is the host of The Edible Valley Podcast, where he shares conversations with chefs, farmers, fishers, producers, and innovators who are shaping the future of food. Through his work in education and media, he focuses on sustainability, culinary innovation, and building stronger connections between growers, harvesters, chefs, and communities.
With a deep connection to the West Coast and a passion for exploring underutilized ingredients, Jonathan encourages chefs to look beyond traditional ingredients and embrace the potential of products such as Pacific seaweeds. Through demonstrations, education, and storytelling, he inspires culinary professionals to create a more sustainable and exciting future for coastal cuisine.
