
Cheryl Maitland Muir
Vice President, Western Canada, Restaurants Canada
Cheryl Maitland Muir is a public affairs and communications professional with two decades of experience advancing key sectors of Canada’s economy. She currently serves as Vice President, Western Canada at Restaurants Canada, where she champions a strong business environment and a thriving restaurant sector.
Having spent her high school and university years working in restaurants, Cheryl is especially proud to have come full circle in advocating for a sector that provided her first professional experiences and instilled a strong appreciation for hospitality and entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining Restaurants Canada, Cheryl previously held senior leadership roles including Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications at DIGITAL, one of Canada’s Global Innovation Clusters, and Senior Vice President and Interim CEO of the Business Council of British Columbia.
Cheryl's career also includes national public affairs consulting, industry advocacy for Canada’s National Brewers, and roles in the Government of British Columbia supporting ministers and senior officials. She holds a BA in Political Science and English from the University of British Columbia.
